Why didn't I improve with my last physical therapist?

We hear this almost daily from new clients. Believe us when we say we are not your typical physical therapists... Unfortunately, the quality of care you receive from one physical therapist to another can vary drastically. Most often we see the lack of success due to one of several things. Your physical therapist was working in the traditional big box physical therapy mill where they just simply don't have the time necessary to dig deep into the root causes of your pain. With our 90 minute onboarding and 60 minute follow ups, we are able to dig deep and find the problems that others did not have the resources to find.

Can I just rehab this pain on my own?

Accepted Answer

With all the information available on the internet, you certainly might be able to resolve your pain through the DIY approach; however, the wealth of information is also often a double edged sword... The information is typically not specific to you and often times we find that people will make their symptoms worse by following this general guidance that can be found online. Additionally, this method most often takes a significantly longer time to resolve your pain.

Can I use my HSA or FSA at Thrive HQ?

Accepted Answer

You should be able to use your HSA or FSA for the Physical Therapy, Wellness Coaching, and Fitness Assessment services at Thrive HQ. Yoga and fitness classes will likely NOT be covered by your HSA/FSA. Contact your HSA/FSA to double check!

Question 4

Can I use my insurance benefits at Thrive HQ?

Accepted Answer

Thrive HQ is a fee-for-service practice. Although we do not bill your insurance, you CAN use your HSA or FSA funds to pay for 100% of our services. We are here to serve you and your best interests, not the insurance companies! 
 
If requested, you will be provided with a Superbill that you can then submit to your insurance for any available out-of-network benefits.  Please click here for a list of questions you will need to ask of your insurance company to see how they might reimburse you for out-of-network services.  Thrive HQ is happy to assist you in navigating this process if needed.

Why don't you accept insurance?

Accepted Answer

Current insurance reimbursement forces most physical therapy companies to co-treat multiple patients at once and denies many performance based treatments that Thrive HQ delivers. We believe you deserve better and we refuse to allow an insurance company to dictate your care.

Question 6

Do I need to see a physician and/or have a referral before coming to Thrive HQ?

Accepted Answer

Almost never! Physical therapy in MN is a direct access service, meaning you can come to us first, and there is no need to have a physician visit or referral!
 
Physical therapists have doctorate degrees and take classes with medical school students. They are thoroughly trained to be able to act as "primary care" providers. As a primary care provider we are able to assess and screen for any "red flag" issues that may require referral to other specialists.

Question 7

I have Medicare or Medicaid. Can I come to Thrive HQ?

You can absolutely come to Thrive HQ for our Wellness Coaching, Fitness Assessment, and Fitness Classes. 
 
Unfortunately, Medicare and Medicaid do not allow their members to be seen by out-of-network healthcare providers, even if you want to pay out of pocket for the services.

Question 8

Can I do a Bodywork, Dry Needling, or Cupping session without completing an Onboarding session?"

Accepted Answer

Short answer is no. We ask that you complete an Onboarding Session first as this is where we get to learn about you, understand your goals, and screen for what treatment options could be safe and effective for you.

Question 9

What do I need to do prior to my first physical therapy session?

Accepted Answer

After booking a session, you will receive an email confirming your appointment and asking you to complete the new member forms. Please complete these forms prior to your first session.
 
If required by your insurance for reimbursement, please bring your referral for physical therapy.
Please bring your preferred form of payment: cash, credit card, HSA card, or FSA card.

Question 10

What should I wear to my physical therapy session?

Accepted Answer

We will most likely be moving around, so please wear athletic clothing and athletic shoes. Loose fitting clothing that you can move around in is also fine.
 
With many of the bodywork techniques we offer, they will require direct contact with you skin. Because of this, it is suggested for females to wear a sports bra under their clothes in case you would like to use any of these techniques.
If you wish to address footwear, please bring the specific shoes and orthotics you use.

Question 11

How do I reschedule or cancel my upcoming session?

Accepted Answer

If you have our PT Everywhere app, you can cancel your session on your own by navigating to your scheduled appointments and swiping to left over the appointment info. You can reschedule right away via the app as well by finding a day and time that works best for you!
